Jargon Buster

The on site glossary with definitions of useful terms used in web design and development was phased out in early June 2014. It was replaced by a new, more advanced Jargon Buster. It uses some of the latest HTML5 and CSS3 web code to work without using jQuery or Javascript.

On pages, posts and jargon definitions you will see a [?] symbol, this indicates that a word has a jargon definition. On a modern desktop browser if you hover your mouse over the ? a little tooltip appears with a simplified Jargon Buster definition. Clicking on the link will take you to a more thorough definition. If you use an older browser or mobile browser clicking the ? will take you directly to the full Jargon Buster definition.

Below is a complete list of all the entries currently in the Jargon Buster.
